Jenn, forgive me for not answering your question immediately, but all of these pictures (all ten of them) were taken at Long Run Park which is located near Louisville, KY. See Google map.

Da Lo, maybe you might consider starting a group called Not A Bird. My plate is full, and I don't have time to manage, moderate, or whatever one does for such a group. If you do, I'll certainly contribute to you efforts. Think about it.

Cool! I always try to limit my uploads to birds (being a birding site) but I find most bird photographers are Nature photographer/appreciators too, so after Roberta Blair created (and I joined) "All weather all the time" I'm glad to see a "Not a bird" blog. I have zillions of non-avian pictures I never show anyone so maybe you've just started something that'll be BIG! :) P.S, I love dandelions!

Thanks for sharing these Mitchelle. It is always nice to be reminded of the beautiful gifts we recieve from nature while keeping an eye out for our feathered friends! I have a huge, very similar photographic collection myself. :)

I will echo Dale and Jenn`s comments as well. Sometimes it`s just great to be out in the natural world and take photos of whatever you can.

Ditto Jenns comment. I typically come back from the trail with flowers and butterfly pictures!

Nice series, Mitchelle. :)  I know what you mean... sometimes we don't find what we go out seeking, but are still rewarded with what we do find.

Your photos remind me of one of my favorite nature sanctuaries here called Turkey Creek.  Turtles and skinks and dragonflies (along with manatees, alligators, anoles, and butterflies) make up a majority of the photos I get there even though I go looking for birds every time.  I saw Maryland mentioned above, but where did you find all of these lovely creatures?
