I was sitting in my car eating my lunch today when I noticed a European starling walking around in the grass with another bird following it. The bird following looked to be a juvenile and it makes sense since it was following the adult around and begging for food every time the adult found something to eat. Each time the adult raised its head the juvenile went into the feeding position, head back and beak gaping, and it would chirp. The adult totally ignored the youngster, and after a while the young one started pecking at the ground for itself. I guess mom and dad decided it was time the kids start feeding themselves.
