WeLoveBirds.org

So I found this site while looking up info for our Bird Club Newsletter for the Great Backyard Bird Count. It looked like fun to be with  like minded people. I got interested in birding when we bought our house and the previous owner left bird feeders. Being a stay at home mom, I thought it would be fun. Now my daughter and I are both members of the Grant Co. Bird Club and love it!

I love hummingbirds, such little jewels! we get calliope, rufous and black chinned. i try to keep up on nectar in the summer, i discovered to make a perfect recipe to fill up a big plastic juice container and keep it in the fridge.  i want to see bushtits, they are more uncommon over here.  i've been having hawks hanging around lately, Northern Goshawk, Cooper's Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk and we had a Bald Eagle sitting up ontop of our hill the other day. (i have chickens so hawks are fun to see but worrying too)

I am a sucker for hummingbirds, and my three year old likes to watch and tell me when there is one at our feeder. Otherwise the I like small songbirds like the black-capped chickadees and bushtits that also come to my feeders.

hehe, my kids are thankfully too big for a stroller now, 3 1/2 and 7. Its so much for to see them excitd about noticing a bird etc. My daughter loves to draw birds for me. need to go de-ice the bird baths. whats your fave bird to have around? i love my nuthatches and flickers, strangely the nuthatches are no where to be seen, they are being very rare around our area.

Welcome to the site! I love feeders for being able to look out the window and "bird" a little without having to drag out the stroller.
