We have the Juncos, but hard to get, they stay on the ground most of the time. We feed our ground birds in our side yard. When we get snow they will come up to the feeders. Nice you live near the water

Oh, guess I forgot about those birds living up north on the coast line. Maine is a beautiful state. Enjoy your new home. You may find different birds living near you. Take care

Hi Rosanna.

since my last name is also Gray, I thought I would share that the name "Grey" is spelled that way because it came from old English and that is the way the English spelled the name originally. have a wonderful and bird loving day.

Actually, I have looked at many of your photos in the past, and enjoyed them very much.  I do respect your opinions about birds.  I did want to say two things about your comments to the young person excited about getting a new parakeet.  The first is about the chicken and the egg.  If the birds are in the pet store, is it not better to have someone buy and love one or should they not because that encourages parakeets to be bred for stores.  Obviously, that's rhetorical.  Secondly, I have very strong feelings about children having domestic pets.  I think certain kinds of birds, including parakeets, fall into that category.  I believe loving and feeling unconditional love from a pet is incomparable.  Children also learn nurturing, compassion, and caretaking.  Pets also help loneliness and positively affect people's overall physical and mental health.  Consider the source is fair - At various times, I had parakeets, hamsters, a rabbit and dogs as a child.  As a adult, I had cats, hedgehog, hamsters, tropical fish and a guinea pig.  I currently have a dog and hamster.  I take photos of seabirds almost every day, but I miss shots because I stare in awe before I even lift my camera.  Hey, thanks, Rosanna, for listening to the clink the other side of the coin makes when it lands.
