Fordham Hawks

Hi Everyone,

 

This year, the Red-tail Hawks (Buteo  Jamaicensis) that nest on the Rose Hill campus of Fordham University which is located in the Bronx, NY produced four eggs that hatched.  The youngsters grew up and have recently fledged.  I have been following and photographing these hawks since 2006.  Each year they refortify the nest sometime in February, lay the eggs in late March, hatch in late April or early May and fledge in mid to late June.  The female is named Rose,…

Your Hawks are great !!  We don't get that many types of big birds; red shouldered hawk, osprey, small eagles, vultures, storks, egrets, limpkins, heron an pelicans !!  Take Care an Be Well !!

Hi Rich thank you for nice commets on my pictures they were taken at the beach real earliy in the morning when they are lookig for food .it is on GREOGIA STRAIGHT ON THE PACFIC OCEAN in campbell river b.c. canada .They have a nest a couple of blocks from were i live . I have been following them for a couple of years now . I get beef fat or fish to give to them at few times a week . They had three young this years i guess i will be feeding them soon when they leave the nest .Thanks again hope you are have a good day Andrea

Thanx for answer; I use only Nikon lenses have a warm tint !!  I also use Zoom lenses as I'm getting older and no longer carry heavy stuff !! Nikon D50 and 3 lenses 18 to 55 / 50 to 200 / and 70 to 300 Zooms !!
