It snowed. Need I say more? In case you missed it, it snowed. But, it's mostly gone, for now.
The deer came again, today, as they do everyday, but while I was out this morning photographing them in the fresh..snow..I heard a pileated woodpecker near by, so I stood quietly behind a tree and waited a few minutes. I was a bit surprised to see her swoop in, land and stay on the feeder as long as she did.…

As the last mounds of snow slowly melt, leaving the ground somewhat spongy, our new digs are becoming my favorite place to be. We have deer, wild turkey's, pileated woodpeckers, barred owls, wrens and pheasants, as well as all my little bird friends that visit our feeders. I saw the turkey's this morning for the first time, although I've seen their tracks all winter in the snow, I was excited to see them in the flesh. Ha ha, thought I saw that on the blog, my mistake. I really think the owl photo was a well deserved winner - and they were all so very good, it was difficult to choose.
