"Thanks, Jenn.  This is the time that the migrants are arriving here, so I'm hoping for some good birding over the next few days.  If you ever do get this far north, I would be glad to go birding with you.....come on up!  :-)"

"Wow, Roberta, you had a great day at Circle B, and I agree with Jenn....what a beautiful shot of the Roseate Spoonbills.  From your count, it doesn't appear that all the birds have left FL and headed north. Jenn...we keep records here,…"

"Thanks, DaLo.  You're right, we do need another comet.  I remember seeing both those two comets in '96/'97....both beautiful night objects.  Found these tidbits about Hale-Bobb on the NASA site:  "Its absolute…"

"Thanks, the trip went very well, DaLo, and, as usual, you've managed to make me laugh....thanks for that, too.   I doubt very much if those pet chickens would ever be "frozen, roasted or in sauce."  That woman was very,…"

"Finally, a mystery solved!  For the past several months, I've heard a bird calling around the yard, but I was never able to locate it.  Since I don't bird by sound, I had no idea what bird it was.  Frustrating!  Well,…"

Guilt Feelings

We're packing up everything and leaving Nova Scotia tomorrow, heading eventually to our winter home in Florida and I can't help but have guilty feelings.  Why?  Because we have ten bird feeders hanging off the roof overhang along the back of the house and another six scattered around the front yard, so the birds are well supplied with sunflower, thistle, shelled peanuts and suet, as well as bird baths for drinking and bathing.  In addition, on a daily basis, I put out bread, shelled peanuts and… Continue

Welcome.  I live a stone's throw from you, in a little town next to St. Petersburg.  I suspect we see many of the same "Florida birds."
