Seabirds threatened by development
Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, is the site of North America's largest Atlantic Puffin colony, the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve (coordinates 41°13'47”N 52º47'27”W). The reserve, which consists of four islands, also serves as a nesting area for over 600,000 pairs of Leach's storm petrels plus a further population of thousands that includes razorbills, black-legged kittiwakes, common and thick-billed murres and northern fulmars.

- Thanks Jean for the reply. I am close to retiring right now and planning in the month ahead to move to S. Carolina. Ever since we went to NS we have wanted to venture farther out to Newfoundland. It is on our list of places to go (long list, getting longer) I have fond memories of Peggy's Cove and a couple of really good shots of the village (see Flickr, username steffro1).
