"Ain't common names wonderful?  (!) It really bothers me that there's a "worm-eating warbler," and a genus Vermivora...but the former isn't in the latter!"

"In this case, the "thrush" part of the name (of the waterthrushes) is actually a bit of a misnomer.  These birds are in the warbler family taxonomically, not true thrushes such as the ones you mention ."

Thank you for the info on bald Cardinals.  I wish there was some way to help them avoid this condition.
