"It seems to me that it is a Coopers Hawk or a Red Tailed Hawk. I, personally, am leaning more toward a Coopers Hawk. also, the shot you took is quite amazing."

"I think they are called different types of hawks in different areas.  Looks like a red shouldered hawk.  A Krider's hawk has more white.  Love the photo. Vonda"

"What's the First Rule of Hawks, again?  Oh, yeah--ask yourself why it is NOT a red-tail... I see a belly band...?? The angle of this shot (which is very nice, btw) may be misleading us as to body/head shape/proportions..."
