Comment by Robert Steffens on February 15, 2012 at 2:48pm About 15 ft according to the computer data f/10 at 1/500 sec ISO 1000. He was cold and didn't want to move so I could almost touch him to get him to fly. But I let him sleep after about 15 shots.
Beautiful details! ! ! I just love the eye detail and the chest feather detail. Were you THAT close or did you really have to zoom? If you did zoom - what mm ? There is no sign of shake or blur, though! Wonderful job!
Comment by Andrew Aldrich on February 15, 2012 at 9:55am Cool shot!
Comment by Vicki Miller on February 15, 2012 at 9:17am Yikes, that was close! Well done, love the flowing feathers.
Comment by Robert Steffens on February 14, 2012 at 7:16pm Thanks Larry and Mitchelle! The earth would have to move before he did! ;o)
Comment by Larry H. Thompson on February 14, 2012 at 6:12pm You are asking for trouble by getting so close!
I like this angle. That's the most special thing about this beautiful photo. Good job... ...however you did it.
