Comment by Joshua LaDuke on November 12, 2011 at 6:19pm I saw a ruby crowned kinglet not to long ago right in my own backyard
Oh, that is awesome! Turkey Creek has a bobcat roaming around sometimes, but I have never seen it (or any) personally. Congrats on that wildlife sighting!
Do the Grey Catbirds go elsewhere during the summer then? I just saw my pair today next to the feeder area and yesterday we saw one at Turkey Creek. I noticed that I didn't hear their little calls all summer long, but I never thought of them as migratory (but I haven't ever researched them either).
Warblers... lots of them... but I haven't IDed them all yet. Today, again, I saw Black-throated Blue, Black and White, and I think Magnolia, all at Turkey Creek in Palm Bay FL. The others... might be anyone's guess (I think at least one was a female BTBW). I tried to get photos of as many as I could, but I don't know how many will yield IDs. There were also small flycatchers, but I am not sure what type. One of the other people birding said he suspected E. Wood Peewee. I don't think those photos will get me an ID because they were pretty far out and high up.
In my yard, the male Painted Bunting made an appearance yesterday and I think the E. Phoebe is back also... it was like a "feeder reunion" out there this weekend! Awesome! :)
