Welcome to the Group!

Welcome to the shorebird and seabird group.  This group is for people interested in discussing the little birds that roam our shoreline or live out on the ocean.  Please feel free to post questions and discussions about these delightful little birds.

The main photo for the group is of a female spotted sandpiper in winter colors.  She's a resident of Lake Murray and I call her Bob2.

I live by Boca Ciega Bay, the departure to the Gulf of Mexico, and specialize in observing and photographing seabirds and the occasional shorebird.   I am from Ohio, lived in an urban area, and totally amazed that I see seabirds interspersed with residential life.  You'll see this in the majority of my pics.

Looking forward to seeing yours.

Just after I posted about missing Bob, I saw one of them today!  She's come back early!

I miss Bob the sandpiper(s).  She's the one in the group photo.  Should be back in a couple of months.

I live on the island of Newfoundland, where there are seabirds by the millions -- literally!  I love watching puffins and northern gannets in particular, but razorbills, murres and shearwaters can be fascinating too.
