Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive (under $500) digital camera for birding? My old one is just not working for me anymore. Any suggestions?

Users also post pix taken with their review cameras. Make sure to budget in extra batteries. You may need to buy a memory card also. Make sure if the camera does come with a card that it is big enough to be practical. A woman in one of my classes bought a camera that came with a 20 shot card. That is about three minutes of taking bird pictures on a bad day. On a vacation I can shoot over a thousand photos.
