Wow.  Thank you for collecting & posting these, Mitchelle. Depressing news all around, but something birders should be aware of for sure.

I am sad to think of sandhills being hunted, but at least their numbers are robust.  The problems with the whoopers just make you want to cry.  We came so close to losing this species and they're far from out of the woods, yet.  That last story just makes me wonder why the government can't find better things to do with its time than to interfere with a proven-effective program to augment the whoopers' fragile status.

Thank you, Diane, for adding appropriate words to my post. After deleting all my feelings, I was left with that to which you replied: a skeleton. Thanks for putting meat on those bones.
