ok i was online and i found this book

Handbook of bird biology   any idea where i can get a hold of this without buying it for $640?

I was going to send you to my favorite textbook backup, AbeBooks.com, but their cheapest copy is $541.17 - nice round number there.  I would keep a watch on the auction sites.  But... it looks like it will not come cheap any time soon.  Good luck!  It looks like a great book to have on the reference shelf! :)

lol thanks its actually for a course i want to take to become an ornithologist when im older..its written by 12 different ornithologists that are experts in each of the chapters and its no longer in print so it is rare too

If your local library has a computerized system, you can use that to find books on bird biology.  If you prefer, ask the librarian to help with your search.  Perhaps that particular book will not be there, but there should be other books on the subject.
