anna's hummingbird female question
i recently put up a feeder im on vancouver island its january and i have seen her peck at my suet on multiple occasions, there is no bugs in it and the container holding it is black...any ideas???
oh and i got a pic of her on my finger :D

She may not be getting enough insects, and the suet is providing fat and at least a bit of protein. That would be worth photographing for documentation!

ok that makes sense thank you i just thought with their small beaks she wouldnt be able to break off peices of suet
